XL Certamen Ciceronianum Arpinas
Nell’assise dello scorso 2 ottobre, il Consiglio di Amministrazione del Centro Studi Umanistici “Marco Tullio Cicerone”, ha preso atto dell’impossibilità, allo stato, di dare corso all’organizzazione del XL Certamen Ciceronianum Arpinas nelle consuete modalità.
In effetti, l’adunata della classicità che annualmente richiama ad Arpino centinaia di giovani latinisti provenienti da tutta Europa, dopo la fisiologica rinuncia del 2020, corre il rischio concreto di non andare in scena neppure nell’anno venturo.
Il Consiglio di Amministrazione ha mostrato grande preoccupazione di fronte agli effetti pregiudizievoli che un ulteriore rinvio potrebbe arrecare al prestigio e alla storicità della manifestazione, impegnandosi, al contempo, ad individuare un’alternativa percorribile che, compatibilmente con le contingenze del momento, preservi il Certamen Ciceronianum Arpinas e il pacchetto di valori che ad esso sono associati.
Su queste premesse, il Consiglio di Amministrazione del Centro Studi Umanistici “Marco Tullio Cicerone” ha approvato uno schema di rivisitazione del Certamen Ciceronianum Arpinas. Entro il prossimo 20 dicembre 2020 saranno resi pubblici i dettagli dell’edizione 2021 e sarà trasmesso e pubblicato il bando.
Studies “Marco Tullio Cicerone” agreed on the impossibility to organize the XL edition of Certamen Ciceronianum Arpinas according to the usual procedure.
In fact the event, which attracts each year hundreds of young Latinists from all over Europe to Arpino, was cancelled in 2020 and is at risk even in the coming year.
The Board of Directors expressed great concern in front of undesirable effects that a further postponement could cause to the prestige and historicity of the event. Therefore it tried to identify an alternative solution able, considering the current situation, to preserve the Certamen Ciceronianum Arpinas and the values associated with it.
Based on this, the Board of Directors of Center for Humanistic Studies “Marco Tullio Cicerone” has approved a revised programme of Certamen Ciceronianum Arpinas.
The details of the 2021 edition will be made public by 20th December 2020 and the call for applications will be transmitted and published.
